10 February

Dodo chose to leave on Sunday evening, so that Etcetra and I would be there to see him off. He is going to take a train to Nagpur. His mobile dispensary is parked at a friend’s house there. He is cheerful; healthy with the food and care Ogre has pampered him with.

Even after our last few days of peace at home, I feel the old anger surging inside me as he leaves. Etcetra too cannot keep up her charade of feeling proud and happy for him. We wave his taxi off, and come back into the house with sulky faces. Etcetra goes off inside Her Burrow. I hide myself behind the Sunday newspapers. Ogre begins to cook a huge dinner in compensation. As if.
